St (Gr)Andrew's Day

November 30, 2017

Out in Germany at the moment, speed-learning notes for the busy Christmas period in between concerts, so this week's will be a short one. It's my Granny's birthday today; like a true Gaelic-speaking Scot, she made sure to be born on her Patron Saint's day. Here's an arrangement I wrote of Annie Laurie, one of my late Grandpa's favourite Scottish folksongs - recorded by my pals over at Windsor, The Queen's Six.

Disclaimer: The nationalistic vibe of this post should in no way to be interpreted as advocacy for a second referendum on Scottish independence, even if said referendum might offer the opportunity to remain an EU Citizen after 2019...Here are some pictures of Islay, Edinburgh, and my Granny's Scottish terrier, Tilly.
